Enveloped in the natural harmony of the rolling Tuscan hills dotted with oak and olive trees, Christiane’s inspiration is drawn from all that surrounds her from the pale ochre earth to the ever-changing sky.
It is in this setting that she creates her stoneware and porcelain ceramics, thrown at the wheel and shaped by hand, fired at high temperatures and covered with glazes of infinite colors and textures.
Her relentless research in the chemistry of glazes has led her not only to a vast knowledge of the techniques of ceramics and glazes but further to the creation of a range of ceramic glazes of seemingly inexhaustible hues and surfaces. Glazes of rich tones allied with strong textures leave their subtle yet unmistakable mark on each work of art which is testimony to the Perrochon reputation.
Christiane’s experience finds her involved in the field of interior design leaving her signature on a series of bathroom sanitary ware, accessories, tiles and furniture in ceramics of various colors, both shiny and matte, according to the material employed.
Since 2002 she has been designer and technical advisor for the firm Nic Design (www.nic-srl.com) directly involved in the creation of a line of bathroom sanitary ware and accessories. This project recently received the Design Plus Prize at the last Frankfurt ISH exposition.
Christiane Perrochon shows regularly in Japan, the United States and France. Her name has progressively spread from the professional milieu interior decorating to that of a more popular theatre of widespread recognition.
